PHOENIX – A body was found in a Phoenix neighborhood near an elementary school on Thursday morning.
Police said the body was discovered hanging from a tree, just a couple hundred feet from Kyrene de los Lagos Elementary School near Pecos Road and 40th Street.
Pecos Road, which runs right along side the scene of the crime, remains open as police investigate the 47-year-old man’s death.
Police said the death is a result of a suicide, and that the man left a note in his pant pocket.
The school has remained opened, however authorities say school officials have kept the children away from the crime scene.
