Police have released the identity of a woman who was killed at a bus stop in north Phoenix Saturday morning.

The victim is 47-year-old Nancy Lau Urquides.

"You don't walk a way from a crash like that," said Dushko Zmiric, who witnessed the crash that happened at about 8 a.m. near Greenway Road and 19th Avenue.  "I heard a bump and looked over and saw the vehicle airborne into the bus stop."

According to Phoenix Police Sgt. Tommy Thompson, the eastbound pickup truck, driven by 53-year-old Marilee Green-Lee, crossed over the center line and drove up on the sidewalk on the north side of Greenway Road.

Thompson said the truck continued eastbound where it hit Urquides who was standing next to the bus stop. She was taken to a local hospital where she died of her injuries, Thompson said.

Witnesses said a man on a bicycle managed leap out of the way of the pickup truck. His bike was pinned under the truck.

Zmiric says the pickup may have been swerving back and forth for several blocks before hitting the bus shelter.

"It is sad," said Zmiric. "Who would think you'd die on the sidewalk?"

Green-Lee was booked into Maricopa County Jail Saturday night on manslaughter and drug-related charges.
