I am not sure where to begin. I am deeply saddened, as I am the daughter of the biker who was killed!!!!!!!!!!! He was doing nothing wrong, riding home from a friends, just trying to get home to his family. We had a beautiful memorial service for him yesterday and then a fire and good conversation and stories we shared afterwards. Then a family member went to light all the candles at the memorial we had set up for my dad, they were burning bright and then to find out today that someone, I have a few choice words for this person or people, took it all down. Missing all of the items that we put in rememberance of him and his awesome pic that was taken the week before at my brothers wedding. Unbelievable! Please if anyone has information please return the items to us, take them to the site so we can pick up the crosses that we made for him. So not only did someone shame us by taking his life but now they have taken another part of him. So sad!

Regardless of what your opinion is on this story and that' s all they are is opinions!!!!! Here's my opinion RICK WE WILL MISS YOU DEARLY, The gentleman and I mean Gentle-man that died that evening, happened to be my neighbor and really good friend and when i say neighbor I mean family, A corner house we pass everyday, for 10 years always with a honk and a wave (RITUALLY) as Rick, family and friends chill out front if not everyday for sure every weekend!!!I loved to company them around the warm fire they'd cook up on the chill nights and talk and laugh.GREAT TIMES AND GOOD STORIES FROM AN ALL AMERICAN BIKER!!! A long time rider WHO loved his bikes. It is a terrible terrible accident and loss for this family and all of us surrounding and knew Rick. Its just NOT the same without what my lil girl calls him...." Santa" out to greet when we pass by. But me and my lil girl will always honk and in our hearts he will stay and wave!!!!! RIP Rick "Santa" Murray...-The VanFossens Never forgotten

What a shame - a rider following the LAW, killed by some idiot breaking the law who should be taken out and hung! As a long time rider who chooses to wear a helmet, I don't understand your wine about the RIDER being at fault. The DRIVER is at fault, HE failed to follow the law - but no, some idiots want to focus on the rider. SHUT UP and PAY ATTENTION so we don't have to keep looking out for idiots!!

so do you think that people who get shot that its there fault for not wearing a bullet proof vest ? helmets do not guarantee survival the only thing that killed him was the 22 year old drunk driver. he had decades of experience on a motorcycle. he was a wonderful man he will be missed and I'm proud to call him my uncle! R.I.P. uncle Rick i love you! T.M.

This mornings news gave more information as to where the accident took place. It was at 42nd Ave and Bell, not 43rd Ave. The truck pulled out from a side street and took out the guy on the motorcycle. Still a very unfortunate situation. And IM4US, my thoughts exactly...(your comment) "do we get to hear in "several days" if he was drunk/drugged or not? " We will probably never hear any more about this accident.

dipaquette, this is a side street a couple hundred yards from an intersection.

SuperDave - 11/3/2009 9:28 AM
There is a lot of shrubbery and trees in the median along that stretch of Bell and can creat a blind spot. It is difficult to make a left along there. Not paying attention: shame on the trucker. No Helmet: shame on the biker. Traffic does not flow very fast that time of day, so I am not sure speed was a factor. The ambulance was driving away when we came up on the scene.

Sad. I have had so many ppl pull in front of me while riding. It is worse at night. A terrible way to go out. Especially if the truck driver should not have been on the road. My prayers to the famliy.

i would like to know why they gave "white male" decription of the victim, but nothing more than 22 yr old of the fool who you KNOW - created this situation. do we get to hear in "several days" if he was drunk/drugged or not?
