PHOENIX -- A man who was killed Monday after the motorcycle he was riding was hit by a pickup truck in Phoenix has been identified.
Phoenix Police Spokesperson Trent Crump said Rick Murry, 58, was traveling westbound on Bell Road when the truck, traveling northbound on 42nd Avenue tried to make a left, hitting the motorcycle.
SEE PHOTOS FROM THE SCENE IN THE ATTACHED SLIDESHOWOfficials said Murry was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident which occurred around 4:30 p.m.
According to police, Murry was immediately transported to a nearby hospital where he died.
Crump said the 22-year-old driver of the pickup truck was being tested to determine whether or not alcohol was a factor. Crump said those results will not be known for several days.
