PHOENIX – One person was seriously hurt after reportedly crashing into a police SUV at a north Phoenix intersection on Thursday morning.
Crews responded to the wreck at 22nd street and Union Hills Drive at 3:28 a.m., according to a Phoenix Fire Department official.
Officer Luis Samudio with the Phoenix Police Department said an officer was stopped at a light at Union Hills Drive in a marked unit when a person t-boned the officer.
The police SUV could be seen from Air15 video up on a sidewalk with front end damage.

The driver of the car was taken to the hospital and is reportedly in serious condition.
The officer was released and is doing fine, said Samudio.
The driver was under the influence and alcohol was a factor, according to Samudio.
It is unknown at this time if speed was a factor.
