A green sedan also appeared to be involved in the wreck.

The driver of the car was taken to the hospital and is reportedly in serious condition.

The officer was released and is doing fine, said Samudio.

The driver was under the influence and alcohol was a factor, according to Samudio.

It is unknown at this time if speed was a factor.
