PHOENIX, AZ -- A 31-year-old man was killed Saturday night after riding his bike into a crosswalk in front of an oncoming vehicle, officials said.

According to a Phoenix police report, Paul Hemann was riding his bike northbound on 16th Street near Greenway Parkway at 11:30 p.m. Saturday.

Hemann failed to obey the red stop light and rode his bike into the crosswalk against the signal.

Officials said he was killed when he rode in front of a 2008 Toyota Carolla heading west on Greenway.
