PHOENIX – Police responded to a Phoenix home after siblings apparently reported that their father had a gun and their mother was lying on a bed early Friday.

Luis Samudio with the Phoenix Police Department said a domestic violence situation was reported in the area of 67th Avenue and Happy Valley Road.

Samudio said a 20-year-old daughter and 19-year-old son went to their parents' home to do a welfare check at 3:30 a.m.

When they arrived at the home, they thought their father had a gun and they saw their mother lying on the bed, according to Samudio.

The siblings left the house and called police.

Police reportedly arrived at the home and knocked on the door, but no one would respond.

Phoenix Police Department's Special Assignments Unit arrived and made entry to the home to find the couple asleep on their bed, according to Samudio.

At this time, no one has been arrested.
