PHOENIX -- Officials say three people have been injured in an accident involving a motorcycle and a car Wednesday.
The crash happened at 35th Avenue and Union Hills Drive around 6:15 p.m.
Phoenix Police Spokesperson James Holmes said a man and woman were on the motorcycle traveling southbound on 35th Avenue when they were hit.
According to Holmes, a vehicle heading northbound on 35th Avenue tried turning westbound onto Union Hills Drive when it collided with the motorcycle.
When the two collided, the motorcycle's gas tank split, throwing fuel onto the car and the driver, igniting both. Officials said the motorcycle also caught fire.
