Maricopa County Sheriff's deputies from the High Intensity Drug Traffic Area (HIDTA) Task Force are investigating two methamphetamine labs and a drop house that investigators believe are connected.

At about 8:30 a.m., HIDTA agents were called out to the Premier Inn Suites located on the Black Canyon Freeway, just south of Peoria Avenue, in Phoenix.

Deputies said they discovered a meth lab inside a hotel room.  Investigators said it appeared as though the drug had been cooked up in the lab as recently as Sunday night.

Deputies also seized weapons from the room. Investigators also found a trailer in the parking lot, which contained equipment for a portable box lab, according to MCSO.

Three suspects were taken into custody, according to MCSO.  The names of the suspects have not been released.

HIDTA dismantled the lab.  No hotel guests were in danger of hazardous fumes, according to MCSO.

Investigators said evidence found on the scene led authorities to a nearby house suspected of being another meth lab.

When police arrived at the home located on West Sunnyside Drive, near 21st Avenue, they did confirm that house to be an active meth lab.

One person was contacted at that address and that person led deputies to a house across the street.

When authorities attempted to knock on the door of the second house, people were seen trying to exit through the windows of the house, according to MCSO.

Deputies, realizing they had discovered a drop house, entered the house, and found 20 undocumented immigrants inside.  All 20 have been taken into custody.

It is not known at this time if any of the immigrants were in fact coyotes.
