PHOENIX, AZ -- A truck carrying pool chemicals spilled its load onto a Valley freeway Tuesday causing delays in the area, officials said.

Officials with the Phoenix Fire Department said crews responded to the accident near Loop 101 and Grand Avenue around 4 p.m.

According to authorities the truck spilled five to six 2 1/2 pound bags of pool chemical on the southbound lanes of Loop 101 underneath the overpass.

Officials said no one was injured in the accident.

DPS Spokesperson Harold Sanders said it took crews about 30 minutes to remove the chemical powder from the freeway, and the transport company will be making arrangements for the complete removal of the powder.

Sanders said DPS is investigating the cause of the accident.
