PHOENIX -- If you've thought about cleaning out your closet, the Salvation Army is teaming up with a Valley businessman to collect clothing for people who are homeless put their best foot forward at job interviews.
Cary Lockwood, founder of
YourAutoNetwork.com, is working with the Salvation Army to spread the word about 50 clothing drop off locations around the Valley.
According to a news release, while there's a need for all types of clothing, what they're especially hoping for is to collect business attire that job seekers can wear to interviews.
The clothing drive benefits Salvation Army clients enrolled at the Kaiser Center. According to the news release, the center's four-month program helps 450 families a year get back on their feet by putting a roof over their heads, save money and get back into the workforce.
The Salvation Army says the program has a 94 percent success rate in placing clients in jobs within two weeks.
A complete list of drop off locations can be found at the
YourAutoNetwork.com website.
The event runs through the end of July.
