PHOENIX -- It seemed the perfect day to become an American citizen.

On Saturday morning, 200 people were sworn in as this country's newest citizens in a ceremony at South Mountain Community College.

People from several different nations, different backgrounds all proud to now legally be part of this nation.

"It's a grand honor for me, you know, to be a citizen and serve my country," said Sofia Camposrabago from Mexico, who wants to now join the U.S. Army.

After taking the citizenship oath and reciting the pledge of allegiance, the new citizens heard a recorded video message from the President welcoming them to the United States.

All in all, July 4th seemed to everybody, to be a perfect day to hold this ceremony.

"Proud to be an American citizen, proud that it hapenned on the 4th of July," said Christine Selk from Vancouver, Canada.
