PHOENIX -- Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio's office has announced the Sheriff will meet Friday with civil rights leader Reverend Al Sharpton.

The Sheriff's Office said the two are expected to discuss illegal immigration enforcement policies.

Sharpton has demanded that Arpaio either resign or be removed from office because of civil rights abuses.

Arpaio said he's not at all optimistic about changing the Reverend's mind saying he expects to agree to disagree about how to properly proceed with immigration enforcement.

Reverend Al Sharpton and Bertha Lewis are coming to the Valley to take part in a community event at the Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church.

According to event coordinators, the event is to help fight against what they call injustices put forth by Sheriff Joe Arpaio and the laws in Arizona.

Event planners are asking for help from the community to make sure the event goes smoothly.

Volunteers are required to abide by a non-violence agreement before participating in the event.

United for Sovereign America and the minutemen will also reportedly attend the event.

The Unity Prayer Service and breakfast will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. in the gymnasium at the Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church at 1401 E. Jefferson St. in Phoenix.
