PHOENIX -- The Maricopa County Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing on Wednesday morning to hear public feedback over a proposed $20 fee for drivers who ignore photo radar tickets.

The hearing will be held at 9 a.m. at the Supervisors Auditorium at 205 W. Jefferson St. in downtown Phoenix.

The fee would only apply to those drivers who ignore the citation and then end up in court. Officials said the money would only be used to cover court costs.

ABC15 spoke to some Valley drivers who have mixed feelings about the effectiveness of the fee.

"People that have four or five offenses are going to start thinking about it, 'Wait a minute, it's going to start adding up'," said Gardner Cole of Avondale.

"To get people to respond it's not $20, you'd have to up the fine, maybe even match the ticket," said Robert Moos of Phoenix.

If aproved the fee will begin in December.
