Phoenix police search for driver who hit, killed pedestrian

A pedestrian was hit and killed and police say the driver of an SUV fled the scene
PHOENIX -- Phoenix police continue to search for a driver who hit and killed a pedestrian on a west Phoenix street Friday night.

Officers said the victim appeared to be crossing 43rd Avenue near McDowell Road when he was struck by a black SUV.

The vehicle, possibly a Chevy Tahoe, fled the scene, police said.

The victim was described only as a Hispanic male between 35- and 45-years-old.

There is no suspect description available.
