Phoenix celebrates Chinese culture during 3 day event

PHOENIX – The Chinese Lunar New Year 4708, "The Year of the Tiger," celebration activities have begun in downtown Phoenix.

This year's event recognizes the 20th anniversary of Phoenix Chinese Week.

The opening reception includes live entertainment and refreshments previewing Phoenix Chinese Week 2010 happening Feb. 8-14.

Events include the three-day cultural arts festival at the Chinese Cultural Center, Chinese New Year Banquet, cultural cuisine and more.

Admission is free.

Wen Chyi Chiu with the Phoenix Chinese Committee said there are plenty of activities for children and adults including 3-D art Chinese calligraphy paper folding.

The three day event also features live entertainment.
