PHOENIX -- Police are investigating after shots were fired and officers found drugs outside a Phoenix hotel.
Phoenix Police Det. James Holmes said officers responded to a Travelodge near 50th Avenue and McDowell Road around 10 a.m. for a report of shots fired.
When police arrived they found shattered glass and shell casings on the ground at the southeast corner of the hotel, police said.
Holmes said a small bag of methamphetamine was found next to a wall at the hotel.
In the meantime, a shooting victim showed up at a local hospital with a wound to the hand. Police believe the injured person was involved in the incident.
Two other people were reportedly detained in what police are calling a drug-related shooting.
"Everyone who lives and works in this area right at this point they're our victims," Holmes said. "It's a shame that we have to deal with this in the middle of a community in the middle of the day like this."
Police are reportedly looking at surveillance video and searching for four armed suspects.
