PHOENIX -- Maricopa County Solid Waste Management wants you to take out the trash, for free.

Every Friday in October the public can dump garbage or recyclables to one of six transfer stations as part of its "Take It to the Dump" campaign.

A Maricopa County Solid Waste Managment spokesperson says the campaign is a way to get people not to dump their trash at illegal sites, like the desert.

The dump areas are in Aguila, Cave Creek, Hassayampa, Morristown, New River and Rainbow Valley and will be open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
