cpriewe: Even if he didn't have a concealed handgun license he still could've legally checked his handgun at the ticket counter and go on his merry way with no worries. He sounds like he was ignorant of the laws and now he's on his way to PRISON for his ignorance.

the guy was displaying his lack of common sense! he could have shipped it via the post office or any number of other ways to PHX. he's one of the many reasons that we have to go through the pre- flight screening process to begin with! him X's many millions' of others. dumb.

Maybe he felt the need to defend himself against those crazy passengers who strip off their clothes, midflight.

The gun is a legally registered weapon and the owner should not have had to smuggle it on board ! He should have been able to present" his license to carry" to the flunky checking Identification at the head of the security line ! It's called a U.S. citizens second amendment RIGHTS ! It's called " Common Sense " !
