Shortly before 9 a.m., crews responded to the man, who was knocked unconscious after he fell and hit his head, according to Capt. Bill Grischo of the Phoenix Fire Department.
Grischo said the victim regained consciousness, but had low blood pressure when he was assessed by medics.
The Phoenix fire and police department's Firebird 10 helicopter was used to transport the victim to a local hospital. He was in stable condition at the time of the rescue and is expected to be okay, according to Grischo.
Grischo said using Firebird 10 was crucial for crews to save time due to the heat and the condition of the patient.
