What the hell is with all the hating? Gov. Brewer told us after taking office this state was profoundly in debt. Remember when Napolitano was in office and they said a couple of years ago, the state had a whopping surplus? Then the treasurer said later that surplus was false, that it was not that much? Then Napolitano went ahead with the all day kindergarten and I forget what all else was spent. People WAKE THE HELL UP- the economy tanked! We went into a hole we may never get out of. No revenue coming in because people are out of work and loosing their homes that used to provide a property tax. THINK! You don't need to be a rocket scientist to realize that as the cost of things go up, something's got to give. Our state sales tax is low compared to other states. One penny on the dollar is not going to kill anyone, temporary or not. Do you want your kids to go to school in the fall- and next year? Stop fighting over a penny. Geez, Republicans generally hate to raise taxes. This is extenuating circumstances called SURVIVAL. I'm afraid things are going to get a whole lot worse so people better stop belly aching. Administration or something out of salaries and perks need to be cut. Everyone needs to pitch in. And I am....

How about the State figuring out a way to cut out some PORK??? Everyone knows that nobody wastes money like Government! If legislators would eliminate just half of the Unconstitutional agencies they created, we'd have a decent surplus. More Taxes = More Government regulation of our lives. FEELING INDEPENDENT???

Napolitano ran like a rabbit from the fox to get away from the mess she created. Governor Brewer is experienced in politics, and the budget after many years in the politics of Arizona. She didn't father this child, but she is willing to take on the responsibility of taking care of it. Have you noticed that unlike the current federal administration she is trying to bring problems under control, and not standing around crying about who is to blame. Jan has raised up her sleeves, and working hard for us to get into the great state we should be. Good luck Jan, I much like everyone, including you Jan do not want higher taxes, but it is a given that added tax money has to come in addition to cuts in service we must face. Please don't use the Redflex speed cameras as a source of that revenue, it discredits all the other efforts.

I just say impeach the broad. She has no clue of what she is doing, and is putting thousands of people out of work due to her selfishness. She doesn't care about the state she is only looking out for herself.

"So, this is an opportunity to go to the people and ask them do they support a one-cent tax, temporary, to support education and those most at risk in the state of Arizona, and I believe that they will agree with me.".. .Brewer needs to stop misleading citizens....It is not a one cent tax - it is 1 PERCENT. Big difference when you purchase a large item. Until spending (especially travel and related costs) and their pet peeve projects are cut, I am against any increase in taxes. And let's face it - NO tax is ever temporary....What is plan B if there is no tax increase???? I guess she doesn't have one.....

Why can't we get back to the days, when children were taught by parents to respect their elders and when one goes to school, they listen to teachers. Is it the peoples fault, they teach things in schools that's boring and of no use in our changing world. Especially now, that our new government, wants more welfare recipients on the books to give money to. But I don't see the poor getting any richer. Our leaders are the examples our children have of what is truly needed to survive in todays world. You have to be a better lier, cheat, scamm artists, and be flamboyant at the same time, with a skill of language that can fool, the average joe, on the street or at work. The state is just this, a state that people live in. They chose this state because of it's location away from Washington. The only reason we don't live in California, is because there system is failing, and yet the Governments uses California as the countries example of how we are to live. Lousy. If were broke, then go back to basics in schooling. Don't need more State Government in the lives of it's citiizens or children. It's sad, who whenever liberals want something, they always, use the children as leverage. I have a feeling the people are beginning to open their eyes. As far as abuse against children, God shall soon take care of that problem as the time is coming, that evil shall be removed from the earth, by God, and this world as we know it is about to change, not from O'bama, but God. Obama, is the tool, to show the arrogance of evil within our government. Gods opening the eyes, and minds of his people, A people who can live without laws amongst themselves, for they have accepted Christ and God as their teacher and example of how one lives according to Gods laws that are in the heart and mind of his chosen. Gods coming to remove all evil. So why make more laws and taxes, when one should be preparing for what's truly coming. The day of the Lord is upon us all.

Fergitit Jan, everybodies B R O K E! Too broke to empty what little we have left in the matchbox. There's nothing left under the mattress either. The fake pepsi can safe is hiding air too. Oh, and the little rock safe? Someone stole it. Nativezonas don't want to accept these lieing ideas that things are only TEMPORARY-there's NEVER been anykind of temporary tax anywhere that was ended on down the road. We aren't buying that trash, Jan, so fergitit. We need someone honest in office that knows what they're doing.
