PHOENIX -- The Downtown Phoenix Ambassadors hosted the first ever Zombie Walk in downtown Phoenix Friday.

Everyone dressed up in raggedy clothes with crazy makeup as they staggered around the streets.

The walk started at Heritage Square in front of the Arizona Science Center, past the opera house and Herberger, down to the US Airways arena and ended at Friday's Front Row at Chase Field.

It wasn't the first Zombie Walk in the Valley. There have been several in Mesa and Tempe, but this is the first time one has ever been held in Phoenix.

Police and local businesses were notified of the Zombie Walk.

The Zombie Walk is more like a game for attendees. There were several "victims" dispersed throughout the route.

As the zombies walked along, they spotted "victims" (marked by duct tape or a certain color) and swarmed them. The "victim" used the opportunity to put on blood and makeup and tear their clothes if necessary before rising up and joining the zombies in the walk.
