PHOENIX -- Firefighters had to rescue an injured hiker by air from a Phoenix mountain trail Saturday afternoon.
Phoenix Fire Department spokesman Alex Rangel said the adult female possibly had a fractured ankle and was not able to get down the Camelback Mountain trail on her own.
Rangel said that because of the location of the patient, fire crews had to move the patient in a basket to another location on the trail where a helicopter could land and pick her up.
There was no word on how the woman was injured.
