PHOENIX -- As many airlines reduce their number of flights and routes, passengers may feel more cramped than ever before.
With a down economy and airlines tacking on extra fees, such a $10.00 surcharge for traveling at peak times, saving money on travel can be tough.
"I don't search around too much, I go to one website and usually just pick the cheapest one," said Ryan Crandell after arriving at Sky Harbor Airport.
"I will search around and I never wait until the last minute," said Jim Bistolas while standing outside Sky Harbor Airport terminal.
Turns out, if you want to save big, it may not even matter what website you use. The key to saving money is the ability to have a flexible schedule.
"I'll pay extra just to make sure I've got my flight, got the times I want and connections I want, I would rather not mess around," said Bistolas.
Being a little flexible with the holiday dates you choose could save you hundreds of dollars.
