PHOENIX -- Phoenix police were tipped off to a drop house in a central Phoenix neighborhood Saturday and caught two dozen people trying to escape.

According to Sgt. Tommy Thompson, police got a tip just after 11 a.m. that the undocumented immigrants were in the home near 29th Avenue and Indian School Road.

Thompson said that when officers arrived they found a lot of people running in several directions from the home.

He said 22 were caught along with two people suspected of human smuggling.

The group included men and women.

Thompson said the victims were being held against their will at gunpoint.

The house was secured, as well as several vehicles, and Thompson said weapons were found inside.

There is no word at this time of injuries or charges the suspects face.

This is the second drop house found in Phoenix in the last 24 hours. Last night a home with 21 undocumented immigrants was found near 83rd Avenue and Indian School Road.
