13 suspects in custody after reported Phoenix burglary

PHOENIX – Police took 13 people into custody after a possible burglary was reported in a Phoenix neighborhood Tuesday morning.

Police received a report of a possible burglary in the area of 39th Avenue and Roosevelt Street around 5 a.m.

As officers responded to investigate, a vehicle was apparently spotted traveling at a high rate of speed.

Police reportedly initiated a traffic stop and a group of people fled from the car.

After searching the area, officers took 13 people into custody including a suspected human smuggler.

Police said the suspected human smuggler had a firearm.

No injuries were reported.
