SEDONA, AZ - Governor Jan Brewer issued an emergency declaration Tuesday to allow for funds to be made available to the city of Sedona after the area suffered major flood damage.

Sedona was hit by a severe storm on September 10 that produced 2 1/2 inches of heavy rainfall within a 45 minute period.

The heavy rains during the storm resulted in significant flooding for several areas of the city, causing a threat to public health and safety.

It was reported that several houses and businesses were flooded and left with significant damage, as well as damages sustained to roads and drainage channels in the city.

The Governor's declaration provides up to $200,000 to be made available from the Governor's Emergency Response Fund through the Director of the Arizona Division of Emergency Management.
