PRESCOTT, AZ -- Officials say a Prescott motel manager was arrested last week after trying to sell drugs to undercover Sheriff's detectives.

Yavapai County Sheriff's Office detectives arrested 44-year-old Brenda Morrison and 30-year-old Bruce Seymour on August 13 after a monthlong investigation.

According to YCSO spokesman Dwight D'Evelyn, in early July detectives got information about ongoing drug sales at the Mile Hi Motel in the 400 block of Montezuma Street.

Undercover detectives arranged to buy marijuana from Morrison, who is the motel manager, according to D'Evelyn. In late July detectives made two additional purchases from Morrison, he said.

Detectives continued the investigation and scheduled to buy more marijuana on August 12. D'Evelyn said Morrison told detectives that her supply was depleted and she was arranging a pick up from her Phoenix contact. Detectives learned Morrison had asked Seymour to make the trip to Phoenix on August 13 for several orders that were pending.

Detectives followed Seymour as he drove into Prescott from Phoenix and they stopped him on Interstate 17 near Badger Springs Road, according to D'Evelyn.

A YCSO drug detection dog was deployed and alerted on Seymour's vehicle. D'Evelyn said a search of the vehicle uncovered four ounces of marijuana packaged for individual sale.

Seymour was arrested and booked into the Camp Verde Detention Center on charges including possession of marijuana for sale, conspiracy to possess marijuana for sale and transportation of marijuana for sale.

D'Evelyn said YCSO deputies arrested Morrison at the motel for her involvement in the drug sales operation. She faces charges of possessing marijuana for sale, possession of drug paraphernalia, use of electronic communication to commit a felony drug crime, conspiracy to sell marijuana and transportation of marijuana for sale.
