PRESCOTT, AZ -- Prescott Mayor Jack Wilson is recovering from surgery to repair a broken hip he suffered during a volleyball game at a city employee picnic over the weekend.
The 68-year-old slipped and fell Saturday after going up to return a ball and suffered a hairline fracture. Wilson's wife, Elizabeth Wilson, says firefighters and paramedics at the picnic treated him and he was taken to a hospital.
Surgeons placed three pins in his hip, and Wilson was up and using a walker on Monday afternoon.
