PRESCOTT, AZ -- Fires that broke out in a house and a hotel kept Prescott firefighters busy Friday and sent one of them and a civilian to the hospital.
Prescott fire spokesman Eric Kriwer says a man was working on his car in the garage when he heard a popping sound Friday afternoon.
The car caught fire and spread from the garage to the rest of the house, causing an estimated $300,000 in damage. A firefighter sprained his ankle on the call.
A half-hour later, firefighters responded to a fire at the Sheldon Street Lodge hotel. They quickly put it out, but there was an estimated $50,000 in damage to one of the hotel rooms.
A man in his 60s who was staying in the room was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation.
Both fires are still under investigation.
