PRESCOTT VALLEY, AZ -- Prescott Valley is raising water and sewer rates for some residents in November to make up for higher electricity and other costs.
Officials say customers within the boundaries of the former Prescott Valley municipal water system can expect water use rates to increase 10 percent and sewer rates to go up by 3 percent.
Base rates are not going up.
The Town Council voted unanimously for the higher use rates last week for an estimated 2,000 home and business customers.
The town merged two water systems in July 2008 and eventually will equalize their rates.
