PRESCOTT, AZ – Two people who allegedly broke into and stole property out of storage units were caught while fleeing the scene by Prescott police on Thursday.
Lieutenant Clayton Heath with the Prescott Police Department said officers observed a vehicle pull out of the area of storage units near Iron Springs Road and Hinman Street around 1:05 a.m.
An officer reportedly pulled the vehicle over for an equipment violation and the officer noticed property in the back of the truck.
The driver, 20-year-old Jill Smith, apparently said the property belonged to her boyfriend and they were just coming from the storage units on Hinman Street.
Officers responded to the storage units and discovered several units broken into, along with property stolen that matched the property in the back of Smith's truck, according to Clayton.
Both Smith and the passenger in the truck, 20-year-old Joshua Boldin, were taken to the Prescott Police Department for further questioning.
Jill Smith and Joshua Blondin were transported to the Camp Verde Jail and booked for the following charges: Burglary, Possession of Burglary tools, Theft and Criminal Damage.
