PRESCOTT, AZ – Officers arrested three suspects on Monday in connection with an afternoon robbery of over $2,600 dollars worth of merchandise from a Prescott Sears store.
Prescott police arrested Quentin Eugene Jackson, 50, Walter Kenneth Benton, 54, and Debbie E. Resendez, 49, after they allegedly robbed a Sears store in the Gateway Mall located at 3250 Gateway Boulevard in Prescott.
Officers responded to the call for a robbery in progress in the area around 2:37 p.m.
Employees from the Sears store reportedly alerted police that the suspects involved in the burglary had fled the area, two in a vehicle and one on foot.
Jackson had run on foot towards Highway 69 and allegedly attempted to gain entry into multiple vehicles stopped at the traffic light, officials said. He reportedly threatened the drivers' lives if they didn’t drive him away from the scene.
According to authorities, he did not carry a weapon on his person at the time and was detained by police shortly after they arrived on scene.
Police later spotted the vehicle involved with the burglary and stopped it as it traveled down Highway 69.
Benton and Resendez were reportedly both inside the vehicle and were detained by police.
Further information led officers to a local motel where $2,620 worth of stolen merchandise was recovered, according to authorities.
Jackson faces charges of burglary, threatening and intimidation, shoplifting, possession of burglary tools and possession of stolen property. Resendez and Benton both face charges of facilitation and possession of stolen property.
All of the suspects were transported to the Camp Verde Jail.
