Peoria man catches record-sized catfish in AZ lake

A huge channel catfish was hauled from the waters of Green Valley Park shortly after the Payson Wildlife Fair started Saturday.

If he does not eat it, I hope he threw it back in. I hate when people catch these good large catches and just let them die.

This is crap. A friend of mine caught one and the head alone was as big as a basketball. This was about 8 years ago at Rosevelt lake. Wish I still had the photo but lost it in a move. He had to use a ski rope to pull it in. We saw it while boating and stoped and set up the ore as the fishing pole and used the ski rope as the line using one of our ham sandwiches as bait. The hook? You don't even want to know what we used for that. Lets just say the we to be creative on that one. We ended up letting it go as we all hate Catfish.
