DEWEY, AZ -- Officials say a Dewey man is in jail after allegedly shoving and head-butting his girlfriend hard enough that she passed out.
The victim told deputies that 28-year-old Brian Hubbard began assaulting her on June 23 while they argued and Hubbard drank several beers, according to Dwight D'Evelyn with the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office.
Apparently the argument escalated and Hubbard began shoving the 27-year-old woman around the home.
D'Evelyn said Hubbard ended up head-butting her in the bedroom and she passed out. When she woke up the victim began packing her property, intending to leave, D'Evelyn said.
Hubbard reportedly continually knocked items out of the victim's hands and threw boxes of fragile glass items against a wall.
When he found out the victim planned to leave the home, Hubbard allegedly fired one round from a shotgun in the air to scare the victim. He then reportedly shot out two tires on her vehicle which was parked next to the home.
The victim reportedly tried to drive away, but the disabled vehicle was not safe to move.
D'Evelyn said that the next day, June 24, Hubbard began drinking and again assaulting the victim. He allegedly kicked her in the lower body several times and threw books at her.
Hubbard apparently passed out from drinking and the victim called 911.
When deputies arrived, they found Hubbard asleep until deputies woke and detained him.
The victim sustained visible injuries and needed to be treated for her injuries, according to D'Evelyn.
He said deputies collected evidence and recovered a shotgun and rifle from the home.
Hubbard was transported to and booked at the Camp Verde Detention Center on charges including kidnapping, three counts of felony assault, felony endangerment and three counts of felony criminal damage.
Hubbard remains in-custody on a $150,000 bond, according to D'Evelyn.
