PHOENIX -- A Dec. 1 trial date has been set for a Window Rock man accused of embezzling more than $39,000 from the Navajo tribe.

Federal prosecutors say 39-year-old Harry Tso Jr. was arraigned Wednesday and pleaded not guilty to a charge of embezzlement. His trial will be held in Prescott.

The indictment alleges that Tso, as an employee of the Navajo Nation Oil and Gas Company, embezzled $39,223 from the Window Rock Chevron gasoline station and convenience store between October 2004, and June 2007.

The station and store are owned by the Navajo Nation Oil and Gas Company.

Prosecutors say Tso could face up to a five-year sentence in federal prison and/or a $250,000 fine if he's convicted.
