FLAGSTAFF, AZ -- Sheriff's officials in Yavapai County have recovered the body of a hiker believed to have fallen from a trail paralleling Oak Creek Canyon.
Sheriff's officials say a fellow hiker spotted a man lying below the trail's Grasshopper Point area on Friday morning.
Search and Rescue workers from Sedona hiked into the area and determined the man in his late 30s was dead.
After sheriff's detectives investigated, the body was turned over to the county medical examiner's office. The man's name is being withheld until his family is notified.
