Authorities say a Northern Arizona man has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a young girl.
On Monday, Yavapai County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a reported sexual assault call on Bronson Driver in Bagdad, east of Prescott.
According to a police report, when deputies arrived, they saw family members detaining 18-year-old Congress man David Kohler inside the home.
Family members told deputies that Kohler molested a 5-year-old girl in a locked bathroom.
The girl's family told deputies they heard the victim screaming inside the bathroom. When they entered the bathroom, they allegedly found Kohler inside with the victim.
When Kohler was confronted, he became aggressive and had to be physically restrained by the family members, according to the police report.
Deputies detained Kohler and conducted a preliminary investigation which resulted in Kohler’s arrest for kidnapping and child molestation.
The victim was treated by medical personnel and was otherwise uninjured, according to the report.
