FLAGSTAFF, AZ – A Scottsdale woman is safe after becoming lost while driving in northern Arizona over the weekend.

The Coconino County Sheriff's Office received a call from a 55-year-old woman who became disoriented and lost on Saturday just after 9 p.m.

According to the victim, she traveled from Scottsdale to Flagstaff with the ultimate destination of Albuquerque New Mexico.

Once in Flagstaff she reportedly stopped at a fast food restaurant for lunch.

Investigators believe as the woman continued her journey she mistakenly drove north on US Highway 180.

The victim did have a GPS unit with her and was able to provide GPS coordinates of her location.

Coconino County Sheriff's Deputies conducted the initial response and search.

Twelve Coconino County Sheriff's Search and Rescue Volunteers located the woman in her vehicle on Arizona State Trust land south east of Red Butte, located east of Highway 64 and north of Highway 180, on Sunday at about 7:50 a.m.

The victim's vehicle was high-centered and disabled and deputies had it towed.

The victim did not require medical attention and was transported to safety.
