FLAGSTAFF, AZ -- Authorities say a 27-year-old man is in custody after he allegedly assaulted three people in separate incidents just outside Flagstaff last Friday.

Coconino County Sheriff's spokesman Gerry Blair said Marco Antonio Mora has been charged with attempted robbery, sexual abuse, misdemeanor assault, aggravated assault, and criminal damage.

Blair said the first victim was walking to her vehicle in the Fort Tuthill area when the suspect approached her and told her not to scream.

When the victim screamed for help, Mora allegedly grabbed her breast and tried to grab her vehicle keys.

People in the area heard the victim's screams for help and rushed to help. The suspect then fled on foot, according to Blair.

As sheriff's deputies were taking her report, a second call was received of a crime that occurred in the Fort Tuthill parking area involving a suspect with a similar description.

The second victim told deputies he was walking to his vehicle when the suspect asked him for the time and then tried to strike him.

According to the victim he knocked the suspect to the ground and fought with him. The suspect got loose and fled.

While authorities were trying to locate the suspect, Department of Public Safety officers came across a car with a flat tire on Interstate 17.

Officers pulled over to the vehicle where two females said a suspect approached their vehicle with something in his hand but once they started screaming he fled, according to Blair.

A DPS officer near a convenience store in Kachina Village reportedly noticed someone inside the store with a similar description to the suspect.

The officer tried talking to him, waiting until other officers arrived to detain him when the suspect resisted and tried to take the officer's weapon, Blair said.

Additional officers arrived and Mora was subdued and taken into custody.

Blair said Mora is from Mexico.
