I agree azxterra, they'd have a hard time convincing me they care about the land, aka "mother earth." All the rez areas I have seen look like trash dumps. Maybe it's sacred trash!? They make snow at Sunrise, which I understand is an Indian owned attraction. That seems to be okay with the Native Americans there. The water is reclaimed, if anything it may help out the watershed in the area. It's time to get over it, and let the Snowbowl owners make snow and bring in the skiers all winter. It would help out many of the area's businesses as well. Besides the tribe could put their money towards cleaning up their rez, and helping their people, not spending it on lawsuits. Start with the flakes already, so we can strap on our skis and go.

The Snowbowl Resort is located on land that is leased from the U.S. Forest Service as it's inside the Coconino National Forest, not on Tribal land. Snow does fall up there so adding more shouldn't change the ecosystem. I have driven through nearly every Indian Reservation in Arizona and have seen many areas that looked like an F5 tornado tore through a landfill. So I couldn't consider the statement "have always taken much better care of the Earth than Whitey," as being valid.

No aztex999, I have it on good authority that they never did.

With everyone so worried about climate change and global disaster, where is Al Gore? Surely there is something VERY WRONG with manufacturing snow for a desert plateau mountain? If they want to ski let them go where mountains naturally have snow, the Rockies, the Alps, etc. Why artificially change the ecosystem for the whole area so a few skiers can have fun? Could it be that DOLLAR$ trumps NATURE? Even if they weren't planning to use potty water, it still doesn't make sense. Now days you can't dig a ditch without all kinds of environmental impact studies being done by some over paid government lackey. And they will surely find some ENDANGERED earthworm or teeny bug to call a halt to the whole project forever! And when we all have to bend over backwards to not to not offend ANYONE'S religion no matter how nutty it is, why is the American Natives religious beliefs any less important? With every illegal Mexican screaming about their "RIGHTS" and "RACIAL DISCRIMINATION" every time anyone tries to make them follow the rules, what about the Indians? Aren't they "people of color". They have always taken much better care of the Earth than Whitey. Yeah, just where is Al Gore?

Are you telling me that throughout history, no Navajo ever took a leak while visiting this sacred peak?
