FLAGSTAFF, AZ – Detectives arrested two suspects on Tuesday for allegedly trying to pawn an item they had stolen from a vehicle a few days earlier in Flagstaff.
Patrick Martinez, 37, and Amanda Hain, 25, of Williams, reportedly stole a laptop from a car parked in a Fry’s parking lot on September 4th.
Six days later, police received a call from the manager of a local pawnshop, stating that there was a customer giving inconsistent information about her identification, according to officials.
Police reportedly arrived on the scene and contacted Hain at the shop. Martinez apparently had fled from the parking lot of the store.
According to authorities, investigators questioned Hain and confiscated the laptop she had tried to sell.
Police then reportedly contact the victim of the burglary in attempt to connect the two cases and the owner was able to identify the laptop.
Detectives from the Williams Police Department arrested Hain and Martinez and transported them to Coconino County jail.
Both are being charged with burglary, trafficking in stolen property, and possession of stolen property.
The Flagstaff Police Department reminds local residents to reduce the chance of being targeted by burglars by removing all valuables from their vehicles and locking all car and home doors.
