Click the play button on the video window to the right to see the storySCOTTSDALE, AZ – Fire officials in Scottsdale say a fire that destroyed a 12,000-square-foot home was accidentally caused by construction crews still working to finish the house.
Fire spokeswoman Tiffani Nichols said the blaze caused $3.5 million in damage.
The home, which was 80 percent complete, was being built in the gated Desert Mountain community.
Crews responded to the fire shortly after 5:30 p.m. Monday.
Crews arrived to find the large, single story structure fully engulfed in flames, according to Nichols.
Nichols said firefighters managed to quickly contain the flames.
There are no reports of injuries.
