SCOTTSDALE, AZ -- Excitement was all over Susie Jones' face as she walked into her Scottsdale dentist office for the final appointment in what has been a grinding journey.

"I feel incredible," explained Jones.

A few years ago, at the age 41, Jones suffered from a rapidly aggressive case of periodontal disease.

"Something I couldn't control I did everything right, went for cleanings, not a smoker, very healthy," she said. "My teeth were just not going to survive."

"Quite honestly there is nothing she could have done any differently," explained Dr. Dennis Cufone of Pinnacle Dentistry. "In her life to make this not happen it was an inevitability."

For the last two years, Dr. Cufone and Periodontist Ralph Wilson from Pinnacle Dentistry in Scottsdale helped restore Jones' smile and her confidence. The doctors along with a team of dental experts including Precision Dental Prosthetics, Dental Implements, Astra Tech and 3i Dental Implants all donated their time and resources free of charge.

"And the thing about it was she never asked me for anything," said Periodontist Ralph Wilson. "I just grew to know her over time and I knew that she was young and she was going to lose all her teeth and I just saw her and said Susie you know I think there's something I can do for you."

These kind-hearted doctors believed Susie was struggling enough raising a daughter alone while caring for her daughter's father who was an amputee battling Parkinson's and dementia.

"Susie had so many other things to worry about in her life the last thing you want to worry about is your teeth," Dr. Cufone added.

"I thought how lucky and how blessed I am to be able to receive something like that. To know there's still people out there who do these acts of kindness," expressed Jones.
