SCOTTSDALE, AZ -- Families who have too much Halloween candy left over are making some money in a buy back program.

Scottsdale’s Healthy Smiles Dentistry offered a dollar per pound Sunday afternoon.

The candy that is bought back will be sent overseas to our troops.

In addition to making money on uneaten candy, residents who drop off the sweets can color a thank you card to soldiers.

The organization Operation Gratitude will collect all the sweets and send them to soldiers overseas.

Today they have sent more then 476,600 care packages to troops.
