SCOTTSDALE, AZ -- Scottsdale Culinary Institute chefs David Smoake and Tracy Dewitt took first place in the Extreme Candy Carnival episode on the Food Network series June 21st.
The husband and wife team created a six by six foot sugary masterpiece to secure the win.
Their creation "Life is one sweet ride" consisted of a ferris wheel, clown, balloons, merry-go-round, elephant and roller coaster.
Smoake and Dewitt competed against three other teams.
The challenge was to make a 50 percent sugar 50 percent chocolate "extreme" showcase piece.
The competition took eight hours.
