Im with freedom US on this one,Cactus Kath.CCWs are just a way to keep the majority from excersizing their 2nd amendment rights. Why should I give $140 to the state and trainers? The same laws apply to people with CCWs as open carry, except for the fact that when you jump through the hoops and pay the money, you get to carry under your coat and no hassels when you are stopped by law enforcement.(no garruntees on that last)I see it this way, fine,if thats the way they want to play it and I must open carry anyway, then why bother with a handgun?from now on,Im going to be slinging my AK everywhere I go.That is,every where I go that its legal to "open carry".Common sense dictates we should stay within the law right?COMMON SENSE IN AZ PLEASE!DO AWAY WITH CCWs!

freedom US...It is legal in Arizona to open carry without a concealed carry permit, plus it is also legal to have a loaded weapon in your car as long as it is not concealed...meaning in a holster stored in the glove box or center console. It amazes me how many people are unaware of their rights when it comes to weapons and self defense. I would much rather spend money on something that would save my life, than spend it on a night on the town. There are CCW classes that charge less the $100...mine was $80, plus the $60.00 for the permit equals $140 for a 5 year permit....or $28.00 a year for personal security. Daytime violence is on the rise, just read the news on this web site. Stay safe........

sorry cactus kath but it's not as easy as you make it out to sound ... the traning for the concealed carry is like 100 dollars then the permit from the state is 60 ! and that's on top of the eight hour course you have to take ... our state almost got a good law passed for once allowing anyone to CC without having to take the course or get a license ... if your not packing heat , don't go out after nightfall ..

My wife and I have Smith & Wesson as our security. When will people realize that they have to start protecting themselves? Calling 911 is just a fell good exercise and offers no protection. Arizona supports concealed carry, so get trained and get armed!

I guess the time has come for senior citizens to start having someone along side them for security. When I was growing up, you could leave your doors open all night at home. And this was in a latino neighborhood. Now, you have to bolt the door, lock & load, and sleep with 1 eye open. The world has sure changed.
