SCOTTSDALE - A man tried to rob a grocery store pharmacy of its Oxycontin supply on Thursday afternoon by trying to convince the clerk that he had a gun.
According to a Scottsdale Police report, the suspect walked up to the pharmacy counter inside an Albertson's store near Scottsdale and Thomas roads just after 4 p.m.
The suspect then handed the clerk a note that demanded all the store's Oxycontin, and simulated a weapon in his waistband, the report showed.
When the clerk told the suspect she didn't have a key to the drugs, the suspect apparently took back the note and fled the store without any pills.
Another employee of the store followed the suspect out of the building and watched him get into the passenger seat of a newer model, silver Chrysler 300.
No injuries were reported, but the suspect remains at large.
He's described as a white male in his 20s, 5 foot 8 inches tall with a thin build and short, dark hair.
