A Gilbert man was arrested Thursday after he allegedly tried to sell a stolen refrigerator on Craigslist.
According to court documents, the victims reported that the refrigerator had been stolen from a vacant Mesa home on Tuesday.
The victim told police there were tire marks in the driveway that appeared to have been made by a hand truck or dolly.
On Wednesday, the victim's son searched Craigslist and found a listing for a refrigerator matching the description of the one that had been stolen, according to the documents.
The victim's son recognized an Arm and Hammer sticker on the right side of the photo included with the advertisement. He contacted the seller and met with him at a Gilbert home where he checked the serial number and recognized damage to the refrigerator.
The victim's son then left and contacted police who said Donovahnn Constantine Duhaney, 34, admitted to entering the home through a back patio door and taking the appliance.
Duhaney reportedly told police he was trying to sell the refrigerator because he needed money and had priced it for a quick sale.
He also told police that he got into the house through a lockbox at the residence as he had previously worked in real estate, according to the documents.
Duhaney was arrested and charged with burglary and selling stolen property. He is being held without bond.
