SCOTTSDALE, AZ -- Improvements are coming to a popular outdoor Scottsdale mall. De Rito Partners Development, Inc., owners the Scottsdale Pavilions near Indian Bend at Pima Road, are investing more than $11 million dollars for property improvements. Construction of the center first started in 1989 and since then has seen significant changes. The man-made lakes have been drained; they were originally retention ponds for the wastewater treatment plant. “We are thrilled about the new opportunities available for this area of Scottsdale Pavilions,” said Chuck Carlise, President of De Rito Partners Development, Inc. “We will be developing hotels, restaurants, banks and retail businesses. There will be more for the entire community to enjoy as a result of these much-needed improvements.” The Salt-River Pima Maricopa Indian community has also voted to allow alcohol sale and on-site consumption, which is expanding the interest of restaurant tenants. The goal of the Pavilions is to host new and exciting stores and restaurants.
ShopTalk Marketing says the new Scottsdale Pavilions is set to open in 2010 alongside a new Talking Stick Resort. The two hope to serve as an entertainment corridor along Indian Bend Road. “We are eager to move forward with the Scottsdale Pavilions improvements and to create a development that our entire community will be proud of,” said Carlise.
